INTRODUCTION

I am Enikő Nagy PhD, IT engineer, English, IT engineer-teacher, associate professor

The history of my professional career is mostly about helping people. My work experience is characterized by the time spent with informatics as a discipline, as well as the teaching of informatics in the fields of primary, secondary and higher education. I consider the development of people’s IT competencies to be my everlasting mission.

I obtained my scientific degree in the field of informatics-educational research at the University of Pécs. I can say that I continuously follow the fields of IT training and its development, from primary school to the highest degree of IT training. I also take part in the process and development of the trainings with great enthusiasm and attention. My profession focus and work within IT specifically on databases and related topics.

In addition to education and educational development, I have worked on several IT projects over the past 20 years. Without wishing to be exhaustive, they also included web development, software development and data analysis tasks. I carried out operational, coordination and management activities in the projects. 

In addition to considering my profession as my hobby, I enjoy spending the rest of my time outside with sports, traveling, and excursions with my friends and my favourite dachshund dog. My favourite sports are skiing and cycling.

Professional resume (CV)

IT education has become a part of my life and still accounts for most of my professional life. Throughout my career, I have been involved in all segments from primary education to higher education. I am currently working as a lecturer at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, Óbuda University. As part of this, I teach IT courses, which cover from the basics of programming to applied informatics, to the development of databases in both Hungarian and English.

I started my higher education at the Dunaujvaros Faculty of the University of Miskolc, where in 1999 I graduated as an Informatics Engineer, English, Informatics Engineer-Teacher. My first major professional and academic success belongs to this period. With a Tempus application won in 1997, I was a postgraduate student at the University of Huddersfield in England. I also spent the teaching practice time needed to get a teacher’s degree here.

In the following period, I further trained in the field of informatics, and in 2005 I obtained a degree in informatics at the Faculty of Informatics of Eötvös Lóránd University. I started my doctoral studies in 2008 at the “Education and Society” Doctoral School of Education at the University of Pécs.

On November 5, 2014, I defended my dissertation.

I worked in public education from 1994 to 2006. At a very young age, I strengthened the high school staff as a pedagogical assistant at the Kertváros Primary School in Kalocsa, and then as a teacher of English language and informatics at the András Jelky Secondary Technical School in Baja. Later, I did not leave public education either, so I also worked as a lecturer in 2007/08 as a teacher of informatics at the István Türr Secondary Technical School of Economics in Baja, and then as a teacher at the Kolping Catholic School in Szekszárd in Hungary.

From 2009 to 2016, I worked as a lecturer at the University of Pécs, first as a technical teacher, later as an assistant professor at the Gyula Illyés Faculty, and then also as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics.

In 2017-2018, I worked with Databases as a field of study as a lecturer at the University of Dunaújváros and Corvinus University.

From 2016 to 2021, I worked at the Institute of Methodology on the Kaposvár Campus of Szent István University, as an associate professor.

As a university lecturer, I led IT courses, but I also had the task of supervising and opposing final thesis. I worked as a mentor at the faculties. I provided support for the professional advancement of students in training courses and research activities within the competence of the faculties in order to help them achieve their scientific goals. I was a member of the final exam committee and I was constantly doing curriculum development work. As a technical editor, I also did significant work in the field of digitization of study materials.

I also gained significant experience in the field of education, internationally. I have educated in England, Slovakia and Belgium during these years. In the summer of 2015, I took a 6-week U.S. study trip to Denver, Colorado, USA.

From 2021, I work at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, Óbuda University; I perform my duties as an associate professor.

Throughout my life, my taught subjects focus on both applied and developmental IT disciplines that assume and require a wide range of knowledge and routine. Main taught sciences: Informatics, Databases, Business informatics, Office software knowledge, Basic programming, Algorithmization, Digital pedagogy, Tourism software knowledge.

In parallel with my educational activities, I also participate in research and development projects. In the period 2016-2019, I took part in technical development processes, in which my goals were to perform the technical tasks assigned to me responsibly. I performed development, testing and documentation tasks in this area.

In the period 2018-2020, I also carried out significant organizational, development and research activities within the framework of the Organizational Development Cabinet of the University of Kaposvár.

Since 2020, I have been a member of the John von Neumann Computer-Science Association, Department of Multimedia in Education in Hungary.
